The race for the Monmouth GOP nomination for Freeholder is coming down to the wire.  The only safe bet at this point is that Howell Mayor Bob Walsh will not be the nominee.  A late entry into the race, Walsh has impressed on the stump, but this is not his year.  He has a future in county or state politics, if he wants it.  Elected in Howell as an Independent, Walsh needs to build support within the Republican party in order to secure a nomination on a higher than municipal level.

In most countries, despots of one collectivist stripe or another rule the people.

In this Country, (at least as we were originally conceived), the people rule themselves. We accomplish this through the process of electing representatives, hence the phrase "representative democracy".

Members of the Bayshore Tea Party Group are intimately familiar with the processes involved with putting candidates in a position to win. We were largely responsible for knocking on nearly 120,000 doors in last year's 6th District Congressional contest and closing a perennial 34% Democrat margin of victory to under 10%. In raw numbers, this translates to flipping more than 34,000 votes from the 2008 contest.

This year, with New Jersey being one of only two states having statewide elections in this 'off-off-year', the BTPG promises to be even more active-from soup to nuts-in several key legislative races across the State. Our goal is nothing short of turning the NJ Legislature bright red.

Check back here often for important information about our activities as we move forward with election season. If you haven't already, please check out our Bayshore Tea Party Elections Committee page and email the Chairman with any questions you may have regarding New Jersey's 2011 legislative elections, the Committee or the Bayshore Tea Party Group.

In 2011, the Bayshore Tea Party Group will simply redifine what it means to campaign.

You do not want to miss it.
